Anne Mitchell is Back!
Anne Mitchell will be teaching 3 new fine-silver fusing classes at Oskadusa May 2-4,
we can't wait! Here is Anne, in her own words:
"My personal goal in working with metal is to try to learn something new every day I spend in my studio. Each time I approach my bench, I strive to work out a new problem, refine a technique or trick that has eluded me, or to unlock some mystery in the medium. Over the last 16 years my personal journey in metals has taken me from an in-depth exploration into the intricacies of ancient chain maille patterns, to a study of traditional metal-smith techniques, and finally happening upon the medium that I love, fine silver metal-working."
Anne is based in New Mexico but travels the country teaching fine silver chains, cuffs, pendants, and more. Her classes are for all student levels, beginner to advanced, and her enthusiasm, passion, and teaching skills are unparalleled.

CALL OF THE WILD – A PERSONAL TOTEM
This is an action packed, full day of creating your personal PMC animal totem pendant. Over the past few years I have dabbled with layering and setting cutout PMC shapes into PMC backgrounds. I hit a huge breakthrough when I realized that adding broom-casting pieces to the background gives the piece dimension and life. My wolf was howling at a tube set Citrine in what appeared to be a desert landscape, and my bear was wandering through the woods as another Citrine sun shone down. All you need to bring to class is a mini animal cookie cutter of a favorite creature that speaks to your soul, and we can spend the day creating your personal totem!

HAND FORGED, HEAVY GAUGE RIVETED LATCH BANGLE
My love affair with 8 fine silver gauge has culminated with this amazing bangle, which features an eight gauge textured and forged support, riveted onto a base of 20 gauge fine silver sheet. After soldering a round tube bezel setting cup onto the base, we will forge the latch hook from 8 gauge round wire. Each bangle will be fit to size and after tumble and patina we will set a AAA non-heat treated 6mm round faceted Citrine.

Patterned Wire Tribal Cuff
In this four hour workshop you can create your own pattern wire tribal cuff. The day will start with sizing the base of cuff for an Individualized fit, then attaching silver patterned wire onto a textured base. This element will then be fitted into a precision folded and forged protective sheath, giving your bracelet a smooth and substantial feel.
